Two children sit at a table in a cozy Wildlight home, focusing on coloring and drawing. The boy wears a plaid shirt, and the girl with red hair wears a bow. Art supplies are scattered on the table, capturing the creative spirit of Nassau County living.

Education

Oh, the places you’ll go (to learn)

At Wildlight, students of all ages have places to get an exceptional education. From early learning to university-level classes, there are plenty of mind-expanding opportunities nearby. (With a couple right in our community.)

A child in a yellow sweater waters plants with a metal watering can in the serene garden of a Wildlight home. Raised garden beds and a white fence create a charming backdrop reminiscent of Nassau County's picturesque landscapes. Two children at a Nassau County exhibit engage with intricate metal tracks and wires. One points upwards with curiosity, while the other rests a hand on the structure, reminiscent of the innovative designs found in Wildlight homes.

A Great School District

The Nassau County School District is at the top of the competition — with the ranking and accolades to prove it. It’s #3 out of the 67 public school districts in the state, and has received an “A” rating numerous times, recognized for their high graduation rates and student achievement scores. Because it serves a more rural and suburban community, it has a close-knit, supportive environment … one where schools foster a sense of belonging among students and staff.

Public Schools

Wildlight Elementary School

Wildlight Elementary is one of our biggest points of pride here. Because it means kids can walk or bike to school (making drop-off and pick-up that much easier for you). And beyond the convenience is the curriculum — one that puts the school in the top 5% in the state (with an A rating). Parents appreciate the low teacher-to-student ratio. And kids love the three parks and the outdoor learning center that lets them experience the ‘nature’ part of our town in nature.

Yulee Middle School

Where do Wildlight kids go after attending A-rated Wildlight Elementary? They go to A-rated Yulee Middle School, where each student is provided with an exceptional education. The school has a diverse and challenging curriculum that includes advanced and honors classes, as well as industry certification classes. And there are lots of ways to get involved outside the classroom as well, with a wide variety of clubs, teams and extracurriculars for after-school enrichment and participation.

Yulee High School

Your child’s last stop before college or a career, Yulee High School has a curriculum that caters to every kind of student, whether they’re looking for advanced placement classes or technical programs. There’s even an option for dual enrollment for college credit. And because no teen wants all learn and no play, students can take advantage of all sorts of clubs, from the school musical to sports.

Early Learning

St. Clare Early Learning Center

Have really little ones? The school drop-off is that much easier when it’s right down the street. St. Clare Early Learning Center caters to kids from 6 weeks to 4 years old, offering high-quality, faith-based early childhood education in a nurturing and family-centered environment. Both full- and part-time schedules are offered.

Yulee Kindercare

Yulee KinderCare is another early learning option for infants to pre-Kindergarten … and it’s also right in the community. The school has classrooms and activities appropriate for children’s age and stage in life, with a research-based curriculum that promotes learning through play and exploration.

Higher Education

Florida State College at Jacksonville

Whether your young adult doesn’t want to fly too far from the nest, or you want to take a class or two yourself, Florida State College at Jacksonville’s satellite campus is right across the street from Wildlight. (How’s that for an easy commute?) With a variety of career and technical programs, students are prepared for the workforce in industries like healthcare, IT and manufacturing. And you also might see high school kids here, taking classes to get a head start on college credits.

University of North Florida

Just 30 minutes south of Wildlight, University of North Florida has earned a solid reputation with its business, nursing, engineering and education programs. And, thanks to its location near the coast, its environmental and coastal biology programs are also top-tier. Just wait until you see the campus — with nature— trails, a wildlife sanctuary and location close to the Intracoastal Waterway. (In other words, a connection to nature … something students from Wildlight will already be familiar with.)
